Upon completion of the general timeline, I looked at the characters and found that they did not look like they belonged in my planned setting of 2006 (1980s for Haystack). I spent several months researching fashion and combing through my own memories of the early 2000s to come up with more "period accurate" redesigns that were still simple enough that I wouldn't hurt myself drawing them hundreds of times. Each character has a few options of pieces of clothing that will be rotated out as needed, which will be seen later in the comic itself.
